Every winter, they come home to the springs.
When the rivers turn cold, the manatees drift back to Crystal River, where the water never does. We take small groups out to meet them the way they should be met. Quietly, on their terms.
You do not chase a manatee. You get still, and if you are lucky, one drifts over to decide whether you are interesting.
